Microsoft 365 is powerful, but almost nobody uses it as it was designed to be used. Licences get assigned inconsistently, security defaults are left as they were on day one, and Teams grows into a tangle of channels nobody remembers creating. Microsoft 365 Management from NX Cloud brings proper, ongoing administration to a platform most businesses have never fully configured.
This service is delivered by NX Cloud, NXAPP’s cloud and data service, and pairs naturally with Cloud Backup — administration keeps the tenant well run, backup protects what’s in it.

What’s included
We start with a review of your tenant as it exists today: licensing, security settings, user access, and how Teams and SharePoint are actually being used. From there, we apply sensible security baselines, tidy up structure where it’s needed, and take on ongoing administration — starters, leavers, licence changes and day-to-day requests.
Retention and compliance settings get proper attention too, since default configurations rarely match how long a business actually needs to keep, or is required to keep, its information. If your document structure itself needs deeper work, that overlaps with our dedicated File Management & SharePoint service. We also keep an eye on how Microsoft periodically changes default behaviour across the platform, since a setting that was safe last year doesn’t always stay that way without someone checking.

Questions, answered.
We already have Microsoft 365. What does management actually add?
Most tenants are set up quickly at the start and never revisited. Management means someone is actively reviewing security, licensing, access and configuration on an ongoing basis, rather than everything running unchanged since day one.
Can you manage a Microsoft 365 tenant you didn't originally set up?
Yes. This is one of the more common starting points. We review the existing tenant, flag any risks or waste we find, and agree what to fix before taking on ongoing management.
Does this include backup of our Microsoft 365 data?
Not by default. Microsoft keeps the underlying service running, but protecting your data against accidental deletion, ransomware or human error is a separate responsibility, one we cover through our dedicated Cloud Backup service rather than bundling it in automatically.
Is this only relevant to businesses using TechButler for IT support?
No. Microsoft 365 Management is a standalone NX Cloud service in its own right. Many clients use it alongside TechButler for a joined-up approach, but it works just as well running independently of your wider IT support arrangement.
Will this help us prepare for Microsoft 365 Copilot?
It's a strong first step. Copilot can only surface information a user already has permission to see, so accurate access, sharing controls and tidy permissions matter enormously before switching on AI features across your business.
