VoIP & Business Telecoms

VoIP and business telecoms services move your phone system onto a flexible cloud platform, supported by the same TechButler team that looks after the rest of your IT.

What you get

Cloud phone systems set up and supported

Cloud phone system setup

A phone system hosted in the cloud, so calls work from the office, at home or on a mobile without extra hardware.

Number porting

Existing business numbers moved across without disruption, so customers keep dialling the number they know.

Call routing & queues

Calls directed to the right person or team, with queues and out-of-hours handling set up to match how you work.

Softphone & mobile apps

Staff can make and receive business calls from a laptop or mobile app, useful for remote and hybrid teams.

Integration with business tools

Phone systems connected to the applications your team already uses, cutting down on manual note-taking.

Ongoing support & changes

Additions, changes and troubleshooting handled by the TechButler helpdesk, without lengthy call-outs.

How it works

A clear path from day one.

  1. Assess

We review your current phone setup, call volumes and how staff actually use the phone day to day.

  2. Design

Call routing, queues and number arrangements are planned around your business, not a generic template.

  3. Migrate

Numbers are ported and the new system rolled out, with training so staff know how to use it from day one.

  4. Support

Changes, additions and troubleshooting are handled through TechButler as your business needs evolve.

VoIP & Business Telecoms

Built around the way you work.

A phone system is easy to overlook until it stops keeping up — extensions that are hard to change, no way to route calls out of hours, or a system tied to a physical location that no longer matches how the team works. Moving it to the cloud, alongside the rest of your managed IT, removes that dependency on a single site or a single piece of hardware in a cupboard.

What’s included

VoIP and business telecoms, delivered through TechButler, moves your phone system onto a cloud platform and keeps it running:

  • Setting up a cloud phone system suited to your call volumes and structure
  • Porting existing business numbers across without disruption
  • Configuring call routing, queues and out-of-hours handling
  • Enabling softphone and mobile apps for staff working outside the office
  • Connecting the phone system with other business tools where useful
  • Ongoing support for changes, additions and day-to-day issues

Because it’s cloud-based, changes that used to mean an engineer visit — adding an extension, changing a queue, updating an out-of-hours message — can usually be made quickly instead.

What changes for staff day to day

For most staff, the change is straightforward: calls arrive and are made in much the same way as before, but with more flexibility about where and how. Someone working from home can take calls through a laptop or mobile app just as they would at their desk. A receptionist can see who’s available before transferring a call, rather than guessing. Out-of-hours calls can be routed to a message, a mobile, or another site entirely, depending on what the business needs at that particular time.

Who it’s for

Businesses outgrowing an old on-premise phone system, opening additional locations, or supporting more remote and hybrid staff than their current setup was built for. It also suits businesses that simply want call handling that reflects how they actually operate, rather than a fixed structure inherited from a previous office move.

Why connectivity matters here

A cloud phone system is only as reliable as the internet connection behind it, which is why VoIP and telecoms work closely with our business broadband and network support services. Getting all three right together avoids the common problem of a good phone system let down by an unreliable line.

Why NXAPP

Telecoms are managed by the same TechButler team responsible for your wider IT, rather than a separate specialist supplier you have to coordinate yourself. That means call quality issues, connectivity and IT support are looked at together, which tends to get problems solved faster than treating them as unrelated.

FAQs

Questions, answered.

Can we keep our existing phone numbers?

In almost all cases, yes. Number porting is planned carefully so there's no gap in service and customers continue reaching you on the number they already have.

Do we need special phone handsets?

Not necessarily. Cloud phone systems can work with dedicated handsets, softphone apps on a computer, or a mobile app, depending on how your team prefers to work.

What happens if our internet connection goes down?

Calls can usually be diverted to mobiles or another location automatically, which is one reason we look at telecoms and connectivity together rather than in isolation.

Can the phone system work alongside remote and hybrid staff?

Yes. A cloud phone system is well suited to remote working, since calls follow the person rather than a physical desk or handset.
