Business Applications Support

Beyond email and files, most businesses depend on specific line-of-business software to actually operate. TechButler supports, maintains and troubleshoots those applications, so the tools your team relies on keep working.

What you get

Support for the software your business runs on

Application support & troubleshooting

A single place to raise issues with the software your business actually runs on, not just general desktop problems.

User access & permissions

Staff given the right access to the right applications from day one, and access removed properly when they leave.

Updates & patch coordination

Application updates planned and applied at sensible times, reducing the risk of a change breaking something mid-workday.

Integration support

Help keeping connections between your applications, such as accounting, CRM or industry-specific systems, working as they should.

Vendor liaison

We deal directly with your software suppliers on technical issues, so you're not stuck relaying messages back and forth.

Documentation & continuity

Clear records of how each application is configured and supported, so knowledge doesn't disappear when one person leaves.

How it works

A clear path from day one.

  1. Inventory

We catalogue the business applications you rely on, their suppliers, licensing and how critical each one is to your operations.

  2. Baseline

Access, permissions and support arrangements are reviewed and tidied up, closing gaps left by previous ad-hoc setups.

  3. Support

Ongoing issues, access requests and updates are handled through TechButler, with vendors contacted directly where needed.

  4. Review

Regular checks on whether each application still fits your needs, licensing costs and any planned changes ahead.

Business Applications Support

Built around the way you work.

Most businesses have one or two pieces of software they genuinely couldn’t operate without — an accounting package, a booking system, an industry-specific platform, or something built years ago that everyone now depends on. When these applications misbehave, general IT support often isn’t enough, because the issue sits somewhere between the software vendor, the data, and how your team actually uses it. Business Applications Support from TechButler covers exactly that gap.

This service is part of TechButler, NXAPP’s managed IT service, and complements broader IT Consultancy when a business application needs replacing rather than just supporting.

Who this is for

This service suits businesses that rely on one or more specific applications to run core operations, particularly where:

  • The software is critical to daily work but poorly documented internally
  • Staff access and permissions have grown messy over time
  • Updates are applied inconsistently, or avoided out of fear of breaking something
  • Integrations with other systems, such as accounting or CRM, need looking after
  • Nobody currently owns the relationship with the software vendor

What’s included

We start by understanding what you actually run, how critical each application is, and who currently supports it. From there, TechButler becomes the first point of contact for issues, access changes and updates, dealing directly with vendors where a problem needs escalating.

Access management gets particular attention, since business applications often hold sensitive financial or customer data. Getting starters and leavers right here matters just as much as it does for email and file access — a theme that connects with TechButler’s wider Managed IT Support.

Where an application connects to others, such as a CRM system covered under CRM Solutions, we help keep those integrations working and flag when a change on one side risks breaking the other.

Why NXAPP

Supporting business applications well requires patience and a willingness to work with vendors rather than around them. Because this sits inside TechButler, the same team already manages your devices, network and Microsoft 365 environment, giving useful context when an application issue turns out to be a permissions problem, a network issue, or something else entirely rather than a fault in the software itself.

We keep clear documentation of how each application is set up and supported, so that knowledge survives staff changes on both sides — yours and ours. This matters most during staff turnover or a busy period, when the person who usually knows how a system works is unexpectedly unavailable and someone else needs an answer quickly.

Getting support in place

If there’s a piece of software your business depends on that currently has no proper support arrangement, tell us about it at /contact/. We’ll review what’s involved and set up support that actually fits how you use it.

FAQs

Questions, answered.

Do you support software you didn't originally set up or sell us?

Yes. We regularly take on support for existing line-of-business applications, whatever their origin or however they were originally configured. We'll review how they're set up first, so we properly understand what we're supporting before issues start coming in.

Can you support industry-specific software you might not have used before?

In most cases, yes. Application support is often about access, integration, updates and liaison with the vendor rather than needing deep specialist knowledge of every system, though we'll always be upfront if something sits outside our scope.

What happens when an application has a bug that only the vendor can fix?

We raise and manage the ticket with the vendor on your behalf, chase progress, and keep you updated in plain English, rather than leaving your team to deal with a support queue directly.

Is this the same as the software vendor's own support?

No. Vendor support covers faults within the software itself; we cover how it fits into your wider IT environment, including access, integrations, updates and how staff actually use it day to day, plus liaising with the vendor when needed.
