Office IT Relocations

Moving office is stressful enough without technology failing on day one. TechButler plans and manages your IT relocation end to end, so your network, phones and systems are working before your team arrives.

What you get

Office moves without the IT chaos

Site surveys & planning

We assess your new premises for cabling, power, connectivity and layout, well ahead of the move date.

Connectivity coordination

Ordering and chasing new broadband or leased lines early, since these often carry the longest lead times in a move.

Network & Wi-Fi setup

Switches, firewalls and wireless access points installed and configured before staff move in, not scrambled together on the day.

Server & equipment moves

Careful decommissioning, transport and reinstallation of servers, phones and peripherals, with everything tracked and accounted for.

Telephony continuity

Phone numbers, call routing and voicemail carried across so clients and staff notice no interruption to calls.

Day-one support

Extra support on hand during the first days in your new office, ready to fix anything that needs attention quickly.

How it works

A clear path from day one.

  1. Survey

We visit or review plans for your new site to understand cabling, power and connectivity requirements before anything is ordered.

  2. Plan & order

Connectivity, cabling and any new hardware are ordered against a timeline that accounts for typical supplier lead times.

  3. Build & test

Network, Wi-Fi and phone systems are installed and tested at the new site ahead of the move, wherever access allows.

  4. Move & support

Equipment is relocated and reconnected, with hands-on support available to resolve any issues as your team settles in.

Office IT Relocations

Built around the way you work.

An office move is one of the few times your entire technology setup has to work perfectly on a single, fixed date. There’s no gradual rollout and no quiet week to iron out problems — staff simply need to arrive and be able to work. Office IT Relocations from TechButler exists to make that day boring, in the best possible sense.

This service is delivered by TechButler, NXAPP’s managed IT service, and often runs alongside IT Project Management for larger moves involving multiple suppliers and a tight deadline.

Who this is for

This service suits any UK business relocating some or all of its office, whether that’s a straightforward move to a similar-sized space, an expansion into a larger site, or consolidating multiple offices into one. It’s particularly useful if:

  • You don’t have an in-house IT team to plan the move
  • The new premises need new connectivity, cabling or Wi-Fi from scratch
  • You’re moving phone systems alongside data and networking
  • The move date is fixed and there’s little room for delay
  • Several contractors need coordinating on site

What’s included

We start with a proper survey of the new site, because problems spotted early — like insufficient power points, missing cabling routes, or a poor spot for a comms cabinet — are cheap to fix and expensive to discover on moving day. From there we handle ordering connectivity, building and testing the network and Wi-Fi, and safely moving servers, phones and other equipment.

Telephony gets particular attention. Businesses can usually tolerate a short delay to a filing system; they can rarely tolerate clients unable to get through on the phone. We plan number porting and call routing changes carefully, and keep extra support on hand for the first few days once your team is in. Throughout, we keep you and your team informed with a simple, honest timeline, so everyone knows what to expect and when, rather than discovering changes on the day itself.

Why NXAPP

Because this sits inside TechButler, the same team planning your move can continue supporting your network, devices and security afterwards — there’s no handover gap between “the movers” and “our IT support”. If the move coincides with wider changes to your systems or applications, colleagues covering Business Applications Support can help make sure software keeps working from the new location too.

We’re realistic about timelines, particularly around connectivity lead times that are outside anyone’s direct control, and we’ll tell you early if a date looks at risk rather than leaving it as a surprise.

Planning a move

If you have an office relocation coming up, the earliest useful step is a conversation about your timeline and new premises. Get in touch at /contact/ and we’ll help you plan the IT side properly from the start.

FAQs

Questions, answered.

How far in advance should we book an office IT relocation?

As early as possible, ideally as soon as a move date is confirmed. Broadband and leased line installations in particular can take weeks to arrange, and leaving this late is the most common cause of a disrupted move.

Can you work with our new landlord or building managing agent?

Yes. We regularly coordinate directly with landlords, managing agents and other contractors on site to arrange access, cabling routes, containment and any building-specific requirements, so nothing gets held up waiting on a decision or approval outside your control.

Will our phone numbers and email keep working during the move?

That's the goal. We plan telephony and connectivity changes carefully so numbers, call routing and email continue working throughout, with any short cutover window scheduled outside busy hours and clearly communicated to staff and clients in advance.

Do you handle the physical move of servers and equipment, or just the IT setup?

We can do both, or coordinate with your chosen removal company on the physical logistics. Either way, equipment is documented before it leaves the old site, safely packed, tracked in transit and reinstalled correctly, rather than just boxed up and hoped for.

What if we're moving into a serviced or flexible office space?

We still plan around your specific setup, whether that means working within a managed building's shared infrastructure or bringing in independent connectivity, networking and equipment for the exact space you've taken, so the result still fits how your team actually works.
